The thoughts, writings, and recordings of The Real Tom Bratt
This story was first written for a Flash Fiction contest. Entries had to be 500 words or less. I was pleased with how it turned out.
This is not the type of story I write very often. It came to me, suddenly, and I wrote it for (most likely) practice. But, after I finished it, I was glad it is a part of my repertoire.
This is the first short story I wrote as an adult that wasn’t for a class. It’s a little bit embarrassing to post, quite honestly. But, I also don’t want to hide where I started. I also have fond memories of where I wrote it. (More on that, here)
This was a very early attempt at what became my first novel, Sex and Algebra. The only thing that stayed was the name, James. But doing the work on the relationship, especially on the thinking part of it, was quite interesting.
I wrote this as a part of a competition for a writer’s group I was in in Chicago. We all had to do one. It was very awesome and very fun.
