From time to time, The Real Tom Bratt will be recommending something. The first such thing is The Get Down.

Part I of the show is now streaming on Netflix, and is a six-part series. It depicts the Bronx, in the late-70's, and does a great job of showing the lives of the people that lived there. It blends historical events with a semi-fictional account of 90's icons, showing the trials and youths of people that, too often, go forgotten by mainstream society.

The show is worth a watch, for sure, and you'll definitely be dancing to the Disco beats.
